We love color. Bright colors, light colors, colors that come from rocks. But sometimes your quilt needs, wants, screams for the perfect neutral fabric. Cue Mellow Drama.
When we were dreaming up Mellow Drama, we were sure that we needed some black and white prints. They’re high contrast, they pack a punch, cue the drama. We also wanted a stack of soothing and quiet neutrals, something to let your eye rest but still give your quilt interest. Or drama, if you will.
Everything can have drama if it’s done right.
Or if you keep the neutrals lower contrast, they can really settle down a crazy quilt block. It’s all in how you use them. Are you going for mellow? Or are you adding drama? Or do you need both?
