Eye Candy Quilts is not based out of Australia, far from it (like a 24 hour plane trip far from it), but we’ve still seen the news of the bushfires that have swept through the country. Being so far away has made wanting to help an interesting and honestly somewhat distressing conundrum. Organizations have asked for everything from water and supplies to crocheted koala mittens. But the cost of shipping from the US to Australia would be several times over what the supplies would cost. Thankfully, quilters are a resourceful bunch and a number of designers from around the world have created patterns that with proceeds going to benefit various bushfire relief organizations.
Everybody wins, you get to stitch on a cool new project and your funds can help a lot of people, koalas, and wombats.
And a lot of people had patterns that were fundraising in the month of January, so how about some of these patterns to round out your project?
Stitching is my super power, so I see some koala blocks in my future.
